Dan Davidsmeier was a star baseball at Yucaipa High School. After graduation, Davidsmeier played baseball two years for Steve Smith and his assistant Dennis Rogers at San Bernardino Valley College, where he was a two-time Junior College All-state and lead the state in 1978 with his .444 batting average. Dan Davidsmeier played two seasons for USC but in 1981 he was a First Team All-American after leading the Trojans with a .371 average, 16 home runs, 58 RBI and 52 runs. After being named a first team All-American shortstop at USC, Davidsmeier was a second round draft pick of the Milwaukee Brewers in 1981. His 22-year professional baseball career took him from Iowa to Italy, Mexico, Columbia, Japan, Korea, Czechoslavakia, Canada and Taiwan. He had three spring training stints with Milwaukee. The Giants signed him to a triple-A contract.
Dan Davidsmeier currently is regarded as one of the best hitting instrectors in the area. He has coached many area players including professional mlb players.
